  • Mr. Willy Koh

As the company's name suggests, Racer Technology Pte Ltd is a leading firm in the technological industry ahead in the race against its competitors. With seven factories in different parts of the world including China, Malaysia, Indonesia and USA, Racer Technology has proven its worth as a reliable medical device design, fabrication and manufacturing firm.

Says Mr Willy Koh, the CEO, “As a Chinese, long-term forecast is very important. I believe in far-sightedness. Unlike many MNCs that do forecasts by quarters, we make objective short-term plan for 5 year and long-term plan that go up to ten-years. Along the way, we adjust the objectives to suit the fast-changing economy.”

With his experience in similar trade previously, Mr Koh has set up a business specializes in product design, tooling and production for medical devices, thermo-plastic device, mould and shell for automotive, and supplying them to United States, Europe, Japan and locally. Also a company that engages in extensive Research & Development and having twenty-four hours response and data logger, Racer Technology is an engineering firm that prides itself on offering one-stop integrated solution.

Nonetheless, in this niche industry, it is imperative to progress alongside technology. With the advancement of technology, Racer Technology grows and moves rapidly with it. Remarkably, the business is improving at an impressive rate that the company renovates every half a year to ensure a fresh working environment to maintain a sense of novelty amongst staff.

An entrepreneur who definitely knows the value of his human resources, “People are my best asset, it is like working in a big family. I don't believe in machines ever replacing them,” maintains Mr Koh. Indeed, the business located at Changi South decorates and furnishes its office with a “home” concept so that staffs feel they are housed in a homely space while at work.

Despite the relatively wide-scale venture of Racer Technology, it is still firmly local-based. Explains Mr Koh, “We are more vertically-integrated. We can't depend on everything out there, there is still a need to have design and production done in Singapore and the relevant authorities have been very supportive.”

“People are your most important assets in a business. Show compassion and care towards them.”
