Soft spoken, elegant and a go-getter, Ms. Jean Soh is in a top class of her own. At the helm of Aamor which supplies architectural products to real estate developers, architects, interior designers, construction builders and home owners, Jean says “Some 80% of our business is catering principally to the rich and the famous like the international celebrity, Jet Li.”
Head-hunted a couple of times for her entrepreneurial and people skills, Jean reveals “I enjoy chatting, especially, with my seniors who often share their life experiences with me. I have always been dealing with luxury products and love the daily challenges of running a business. Having to survive in a fast-paced environment keeps me alive - and not bored with mundane work.”
Her company cum showroom located centrally at Lower Delta Road supplies architectural products in three categories (1) sanitary wares, faucets & bathroom accessories (2) door and window ironmongery and (3) exquisite tiles. Its very wide range of products includes 24-carat gold-plated door handles and taps. Aamor imports directly from countries like Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Spain, offering extremely competitive prices.
Their brands include BALDWIN, DORMA & OLIVARI (Door Ironmongery); CRIS (Tiles); DURAVIT (Sanitary Wares); FRANKE (Kitchen Sinks); GEBERIT (Flushing Systems); GESSI & HANSGROHE (Bath Faucets); and SYSTEM-POOL (Bathtubs & Whirlpools). “We have also obtained exclusive brands like NOKEN (Sanitary Wares) from Spain and COTTALI (Door Ironmongery) from Italy.”
In a video presentation posted on You Tube for winning the coveted Singapore’s Outstanding Enterprise 2011 Award, the holder of an Australian degree in Finance & Economics elaborated how her company became one of the front runners in this field within two short years, based on building its clientele through referrals. “We are glad our clients are satisfied with our service. And we’ll continue to strive towards excellence,” assured Jean.
Now with a conglomerate also involving Jean in real estate investment and development in Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Australia and China, her saga of entrepreneurial successes began when she was offered the opportunity to market Vertu luxury mobile phones at its infancy stage. Other opportunities came along and Aamor was born. AAMOR, a twist from the Spanish for “passion”, conveys Jean’s feelings towards her work. “One must have love and passion to achieve great successes and happiness,” she said.
“Passion – the driving force that truly keeps one alive through life’s journeys”
