Apart from providing the usual car accessory shop services like audio, alarm, air freshener,wipers …, Sung Beng is also reputed for its performance pickup power upgrades with fuel efficiency & ECU tuning, air-con service/repair, aesthetic enhancements and in-car entertainment installations. Including miscellaneous services like 24 hours towing, breakdown/accident claim/repair/engine overhaul, computer troubleshoot diagnostic scan, spray painting, grooming and car sales & rentals. You name it, Sung Beng specialists probably would have got it!

  “Founded in 1969 in Sims Avenue as Sung Beng Auto Trading by my late father, Mr Tan San Beng, a long-time kidney patient, we were, then, only into car accessories. Today we provide almost everything!” said his son unassumingly. Mr. Frankie Tan, 39, the company manager, added:“Since 2009, with more new products and services under one roof, I have fulfilled his long-cherished dream of making Sung Beng Auto a One-Stop Center.”

  At the onset of his father’s kidney disease, Frankie was a four year-old toddler, playing with his two siblings, six and seven. To help his father, after NS, he joined the company full-time at 20 and married a former classmate, Mdm. Chan. “For a good daughter-in-law to help his father cope with his illness while upgrading his business.”

Thirteen years ago, his father, a dialysis patient for 22 years, passed on. Throughout his illness, Mdm Teo, his wife had stood by him, providing kidney dialysis with their own machine. Simultaneously, she had looked after the three children while helping in the family car business. Now a retiree, she still advises her son. “I am grateful to my parents and employees for all that they did for the family and company,” said Frankie, upholding family unity, working hard and never gambling. Like his father.

Having fulfilled his father’s dream, and with his parents’ exemplary conduct before him, the ‘never-say-die’ entrepreneur vowed, “To continue to deliver my passion with employees, our extended family, to provide excellence in service, quality goods & competitive pricing. And gradually diversify, to help future generations with an even stronger reputation.”
