Welcome
2011 Sucessful Entrepreneur official portal
“To continue growing and prospering, we cannot depend solely on being the lowest cost, most efficient production centre. We must also comptete on the basis of knowledge, creativity, and ideas. Hence we are pushing research, innovation and entrepreneurship as the major thrusts.: (PM Lee Hsien Loong at the Global Entrepolis @ Singapore 2005).
Driven by a passion to create something new or build something tangible, our enrepreneurs helped us to move on from a third world fishing village to a financial and trade hub. Today, they are continuing to play an equally critical role in ushering in a knowledge-based economy.
An initiative of the GRC Press Holdings, our annual SUCCESSFUL ENTREPRENEUR publication is now into its 2010 edition, encouraged by the accolades for the earlier 2009 edition. And guiding us on is the above quote from PM Lee.
With the new 2010 and the earlier 2009 editions, and the coming 2011 now in preparation with its motto, ”INSPIRING LIVES, BRIGHTENING FUTURES,” we are realising more of our publication’s three aims: (1) to serve as a PLATFORM for recognising outstanding individual and organisational entrepreneurial performances on the various standards; (2) as an AWARD in the form of a SUCCESSFUL ENTREPRENEUR Certificate for recognising recipients attaining greater heights of excellence while sharing their business creativity and experiences with readers; and (3) as venture CATALYST for inspiring, especially, our younger generation to go on their own. The entrepreneurs featured in this edition from trades like eateries and high-tech strruggled fiercely for bettering their lives, despite facing tremendous odds like a limited education. Their determination to give something back to the community at large is applaudable. I am also thankful to everyone else involved in the production like our Projet Officers and editiorial and Design teams working closely with our Organising Committee/Panel of Advisors.
Endorsing this project for the first time are a dozen countries from Malaysia to Peru, whose Ambassadors gave the thumbs-up to entrepreneurship. I am most grateful also to His Excellency, Professor Tommy Koh, Ambassador-at-Large, Ministry of Foreign Afffairs and Mr John De Payva, NTUC President for favouring us with their Messages.
